Belize scuba - sharks in the Blue Hole & Ambergris Caye

Some really great underwater footage from Belize. Focused on Ambergris Caye and surrounding areas with a day trip out to the Blue Hole, this video does a good job of capturing the scuba diving experience in this part of the Central America and the Caribbean. There are some great clips and profiles of reef sharks and nurse sharks, some nice fish and macro work (including a various curious giant grouper), and some quite friendly turtles. And of course lots of healthy coral and reef life. Very relaxing to watch, brought back some great memories - well done!

like Hammerhead Sharks?

Here's a great scuba diving video showing off the enormous number of hammerhead sharks off Cocos Island, Costa Rica in Central America. There's over 5 minutes of schooling hammerheads, as well as straight on shots, side views and more. The hammerhead shark is my personal favourite, so it's a thrill just to watch these animals glide underwater.

Eco Challenge in Belize

I didn't even know such an event existed in Belize. Set in San Pedro just off the coast of Belize City, this form of Eco Challenge consists of kayaking 42 miles (67 km) in and around the reef, lagoons and land of Ambergris Caye. It's not nearly as grueling as some of the other week-long famous Eco-Challenges, but does serve to create awareness of the fragile ecosystem in this part of Central America. It certainly looks like tough fun!

Belize guided tour - Mayan ruins, mangroves & manatees

Very interesting video of traveling through Belize in Central America, done from a British perspective, including pricing in Pounds which makes things look less expensive than in US Dollars! This is a rather posh way to visit Belize, staying at Francis Ford Coppola's resort and having private tour guides through the mangroves and of the Mayan ruins. But still a good insight into all that this little gem has to offer. For a summary and video of our own 10-day trip to Belize, visit our Adventure Blog.

Mayan ruins in Lamanai, Belize

This is our 5th video from our trip to Belize. During our stay at Lamanai Outpost Lodge in Lamanai, we made 4 separate trips to the Mayan ruins only half a mile away. This was one of the most important, enduring and enigmatic of Mayan cultures - much is still not understood about the Lamanai area which lasted about 3500 years. Only 5% of the structures have been excavated, of which High Temple, Jaguar Temple and Mask Temple are all accessible and shown in this video. Also, the fig tree in the first section of this video is only 10 years old!
